Mysterious Monday Blues

Today is Saturday, so a good time to write about Monday Blues. After all tomorrow is Sunday so the 'happy' feeling will keep the 'doomy' feeling at bay. I suspect most of us would look up the net on chasing Monday blues away on a Sunday. We should be instead enjoying our Sunday evening !

Why are mondays so gloomy blue? This blog is about my thoughts on the blue blues and how to chase them away. Comments and suggestions are welcome, and it is much needed for us working blokes.

If I had to think which would be the closest shade of the 'monday' blue, I would think it would be 'royal blue'. Get the pun? After all, this is the day when we get royally taken. Having said that, this particular day is looked at with dread the world over simply because it is a break in the rhythm. Saturday and Sunday are bad guys which make Monday look so ugly. But everyone loves the bad guys..dont we?

What people say, think about the next weekend...and that will bring a sigh of relief. Get so bored on the Sunday that you begin looking forward to Monday. Try and schedule the good meetings, keep interesting work for Monday.

What works for me is that I have accepted Mondays as a crucial part of my working life. I know they will be there as long as I choose to work. So i respect them, I keep cribbing about them at bay, and I look forward to them. Looking forward to the next holiday will only make this day look even worse. Planning my next week on Friday evening or even on a Saturday makes me feel better as it gives a whole new purpose to my next working week. This works for me, and I hope it does for you too.

Remember, jobs may come and jobs may go but Mondays will go on forever.
